In my experience of training shop stewards i have observed that there is a need amongst members to assert them selves as leaders. It appears as though some do not know who they are and assume that their posional leadership makes them little gods. Is it possible that we have may have lost the meaning of leadership because of how leadership in the labour movement is manifested? Is it neccessary to continue wiht the mindset of we demand and thus we will get what we demand or else? True leadership recognises that we have a gift with which to serve others.
