National Education Programme

National Education Programme

Strategic Priority:
The National Education Programme is designed to help build and
strengthen union organisation through innovative and creative responses
to the challenges facing the labour movement..

This work is underpinned by the strategic objectives of consolidating the existing education programmes that have grown over the years in line with the needs of our constituency. It is also to help build the capacity of the labour movement’s to deliver its own education programmes.

This is done through Ditsela’s in/non and formal learning programmes delivered
through a variety of mechanisms.
For 2010 we continue to offer less pre-determined courses but building on the experience of the past few years, concentrating our efforts on responding to our constituency’s organisation building priorities through:

(a) The Trade Union Practices Qualification offered as a Learnership
(b) Siyakhuluma Seminars – discussing topical issues from a workers’ education perspective
(c) Workers Symposium on the law
(d) National Education Short Courses on:

  • Labour Law
  • Gender
  • Educator Development
  • Media Skills
  • Financial Management
  • Leadership Development
  • Information and Communications Technology
  • Organisation Development
